Rebecca Onie, Co-Founder & CEO of Koya Client Project HEALTH, awarded 2009 MacArthur Fellowship

Koya is delighted to share that Rebecca Onie, Co-Founder & CEO of Project HEALTH, has been awarded the MacArthur Fellowship. The MacArthur Foundation supports creative people and effective institutions committed to building a more just, verdant, and peaceful world. Awarded to talented individuals in a variety of fields who have shown exceptional originality in and dedication to their creative pursuits, MacArthur Fellows receive $500,000 grants with no conditions -- recipients may use the money as they see fit. Rebecca Onie is a public health entrepreneur building a low-cost, replicable model that melds the aspirations of college students and the unmet needs of health care institutions to address the link between poverty and poor health. Project HEALTH, which she co-founded while a college sophomore, is designed to overcome the barriers for low-income families to good health outcomes that are often the result of apparently unrelated constraints, such as child care, transportation, housing, food, education, and legal advocacy. Koya is currently conducting a Vice President of Business Development search on the behalf of Project HEALTH. For more info about Rebecca Onie and the MacArthur Fellowship, please click here.
