Recruitment Director – The Broad Center
The Broad Center seeks a Recruitment Director to work on behalf of its Broad Superintendents Academy. The Academy is a 10-month executive management program designed to prepare CEOs and senior executives from business, non-profit, military, government and education backgrounds to lead urban public school systems. The Recruitment Director will work as part of a team to recruit a cohort of 30 diverse, highly accomplished senior professionals to become the next generation of urban school district leaders. The Recruitment Director’s main responsibility is to lead a targeted recruitment effort to cultivate potential fellows.
The ideal candidate should be results-oriented, strategy-driven and have exceptional interpersonal and recruiting skills. H/she will have a track record of building quality relationships with senior level personnel in one of our five focus groups. The candidate must be a highly motivated leader who excels in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to make a material impact on the education sector. The Director will report to the Senior Director of the Academy. This position is ideally based in Los Angeles, CA or Washington, DC, depending on focus group. Travel required for position is a minimum of 50% during the 6+month recruiting season.
Key Responsibilities:
•Formulate and implement a national recruitment strategy focused on targeting high-quality executive level candidates through candidate cultivation and pipeline development
•Build and maintain a network of high-level sources within search firms, other organizations, associations, and civic and community groups who can serve as nominators for high-quality candidates
•Develop, cultivate, and monitor candidates throughout the admissions process
•Build awareness of the Academy through public speaking and networking at relevant conferences and meetings
•Select and prioritize outreach opportunities to expand visibility while targeting the right market/audience
•Develop systems to track the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and update systems accordingly
Qualifications:
•15-25 years of professional work experience that includes at least five years experience recruiting senior level executives.
•Experience developing and implementing an annual recruitment plan designed to attract high caliber talent into an organization or program.
•Experience recruiting highly accomplished senior executives.
•Highly skilled interviewer with excellent judgment.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Familiarity with and passion for K-12 education is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
